In the lists which follow, we have attempted to name all the major gods and goddesses of the Egyptian pantheon from the Archaic period right up to the Roman period. We have included many of the less well-known deities with only the very briefest of overviews. As the role of the gods regularly changed, as they were assimilated by others, our overview is only intended as a very rough guide and is by no means definitive.

We have also included a number of Canaanite, West Semetic, and Asian deities, as well as some Greek and Roman ones where they are relevant to Egyptian history and mythology.
